Florence, Italy

Ah, Firenze!

This was probably my favorite city visited (disclaimer: I may say this a number of times about a number of other cities...)

I could've spent weeks exploring this place.  Narrow alleyways would stream into open plazas from all sides, lending themselves very easily to community gathering.  Some of my favorite things about Florence: hazelnut gelato, clean streets, the Basilica di Santi Croce (a Franciscan church), and Il Duomo (consider my mind blown).  I felt as if I was walking through my grade school history books.

Now, it's time for disclaimer #2: I might've said "oh my gosh, this is just like Assassin's Creed" more times than needed.  Not exactly sure what that means?  That's fine, just dismiss this moment of utter geek-hood and enjoy the gorgeousness of Florence.
