I feel very spoiled this summer. Many of my days consist of reading, working out, learning new recipes, playing music with my family, driving throughout California to visit friends and much crafting (I know, my life is so hard...) Despite all of this, I've been very full and busy! I guess this would be my version of what they call the lazy-hazy-crazy days of summer. Although I do at times feel guilty during these vacation-like days, I can't say I haven't been enjoying the time to be with the family now that all four of us are back together.
I've got many little art projects in half-way-done limbo, many awaiting their destiny in my cluttered backyard work space (as you'll see in some of my pictures). The first is a refurbished tray that I bought at a yard sale. I swept up my collection of acrylics and painted away during a whimsical, summery mood. After letting the paint dry, I sealed it with some "Mod Podge" (clear and matte finish). Now, spill proof- ready for many an afternoon tea time.
It's easy to update and personalize practical pieces like these. Just keep your eye out at thrift stores for trays, side tables, coat racks, storage boxes, etc. Craft on friends!
